Philippine Prudential Appoints New Chief Agency Officer and VP for Finance

Mr. Gregorio D. Mercado, President and Chief Executive Officer of Philippine Prudential Life Insurance Company, Inc. (Philippine Prudential), the industry leader in innovation and growth, recently announced a new round of Key Executive appointments to further bolster its growing roster of dynamic corporate and sales executives:

Mr. Mario Adrian de Bosch Romero, as the Company’s new Chief Agency Officer (CAO), effective March 19. 2012, will report to the Company’s Chief Distribution Officer, Mr. Victor P. Quisimbing. As head of the Company’s Agency Marketing Channel, Mr. Adrian Romero brings over 20 years of experience as a sales management professional in the Life Insurance Industry.  His career is well-marked by numerous achievements since his days as a Branch Manager at Cocolife, as a Vice President at Pru Life U.K. and up until his most recent post at Grepalife Financial as Vice President for Alternative Sales Distribution & Development Division.  Mr. Romero graduated cum laude from De La Salle University, with a Liberal Arts Degree in Economics.  At Philippine Prudential, he is tasked to drive and fast-track the development and rapid growth of his marketing channel to complement the efforts of the Company’s other five Distribution Channels, while also introducing innovations to help ensure the Company’s sustainable viability, moving forward; and

 

Mr. Gregorio Ebarle Mercado, Jr. as Vice President of Finance and Accounting, effective May 3, 2012, will report to the Company’s Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Jose Noel D. Mercado.  Mr. Greg Mercado began his career with Philippine Prudential in 2006 as Assistant to the President, and was eventually appointed General Agent for Group Marketing, during which he was among the Top Producers for Group Life for three consecutive years.  His achievements in sales are accompanied by noteworthy contributions to the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, having organized the building of the Philippine Prudential Gawad Kalinga Village to create an accessible venue for employee volunteerism.  Prior to this promotion, he served as the Company’s Assistant Vice President of Alternative Marketing.   Mr. Mercado is a graduate of De La Salle University with a double degree in Economics and Management of Financial Institutions.
